This issue prevents users from getting the same experience as their colleagues. While there are a few reasons why users can not synchronise their company Sharpoint via OneDrive, we will discuss one particular reason here assuming you have completed general troubleshooting such as ensuring the user has permission to access the Sharepoint Document Library.

This issue is typically caused by a user’s action. When they open SharePoint in the web interface they sometimes click “Add shortcut to My Files” this creates a shortcut link in the user’s OneDrive but also breaks the synchronisation.

Symptoms

One Drive is synced and the user has access to their own Documents in OneDrive but does not see the One Drive Sharepoint Icon or does not see some Folders within this.

Fix

This is identifiable with this icon to resolve the syncing feature simply delete this shortcut by clicking “Remove” either by selecting the link and using the icon at the top of the page (A) or selecting the in-line with the shortcuts you want to remove. Removing the shortcut does not delete the data

Historically if you wanted to create a workflow in SharePoint you had to use SharePoint Designer or 3rd party tools in certain situations you also had to learn how to code and sometimes not finding integration with other platforms.

However, Microsoft now has a new tool that you need to pay attention to, Microsoft Power Automate.

What is Microsoft Power Automate?

Just like any other new products from Microsoft, Power Automate was know as Flow is part of Office 365 suite. It is included in most of Office 365 subscriptions. It allows you to automate business processes by building workflows on certain triggers and actions.

What is the difference between Microsoft Power Automate and SharePoint Designer?

SharePoint Designer is a tool built specifically for SharePoint, it will allow you to build workflows based on your SharePoint data but there is no easy way of interact with different applications/platforms. Also, creating a SharePoint Workflow is not something you can do without any knowledge of the platform and you may need to learn syntax and spend hours debugging your code and testing your solution.

Microsoft Power Automate, on the other hand, will allow you easily build workflows based on already existing templates, or if you prefer to create a new blank workflow. Microsoft Flow is unique because you can interact your workflow with other applications such as Dropbox, Gmail, Facebook, SharePoint, OneDrive, SQL Server, FTP, etc… The options are endless and new platforms are been added.

When accessing their company SharePoint site using Microsoft Edge, the site was continuously refreshing and not allowing access any to any of the contents.

Fixing the issue

Step 1 –

1. Close all open Microsoft Edge windows,
2. Open file Explorer and navigate to “%localappdata%\Packages“
3. You will find a folder called “Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe“, right-click on it, click properties and remove the check from “Read-Only“. Click “Apply” and then “OK“.
4. Now, right click again on the same folder, and select “Delete“, if you get any “Access Denied” prompt, click “Continue” and “Skip” any files you can not delete for now.
5. Navigate inside the folder, and try to delete any of the contents (You might not be able to delete the folder “AC“
6. Restart your machine,

Step 2 –

Now we will need to obtain and register the Microsoft Edge package.

1. Open PowerShell as Administrator
2. Now type the following command
   

   Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}

If successful, you will not see any red output.

Now, reboot your machine again and try to access your SharePoint site. It should now work fine.

Note: On this case I’ve added one day to the formula so the last day is inclusive, if you don’t want the last day inclusive, remove the “+ 1” from your formula
Step 8 – Calculate the weekend Days

Set field default value to Formula: WeeksDifference * 2

Step 9 – Calculate the business days

Set field Businessdays default value to Formula:

DifferenceDays - WeekendDays
